The race described as: "Longer than England, colder than vodka and harder than granite"...

Based on the highly successful North and South Pole Races, the race will offer two race distances, the 155 mile Marathon or the 379 mile Ultra-Marathon.

Race categories are: Mountain biking, Unassisted (Run, walk, ski, skate) and Assisted (kiting).

This is an entirely new category of extreme racing for those who wish to experience the challenge of racing on ice in Siberia, one of the world's most beautiful and harshest wildernesses. Starting in the ancient Cossack city of Irkutsk racers will have an incredible chance to experience the unique chance for the first ever time of racing on top of the black ice in Sibera. Not only is the race itself an incredible challenge but once finished, Ultra-Marathon competitors will have the chance to complete the amazing experience with a memorable journey on the legendary Trans-Siberian Express; the longest and most iconic rail journey in the world tops off this unforgettable experience of vast wildernesses, magical landmarks and a myriad of cultures.

We will be running a Siberian Black Ice Race annually - 2013, 2014 and 2015 Races are currently taking applications.

Dates for 2013 Race: 3rd – 11th March 2013 (marathon) 3rd – 18th March 2013 (ultra-marathon)
